Expanding the Intake Across Multiple Levels
Moving past a simple ceremony, the event highlighted the steady, organic growth of an institution that has quickly become a beacon for structured Arabic education. The 31 newly admitted students were successfully distributed across various foundational and intermediate stages tailored to their previous background knowledge:
- Awwal Ibtidaiy (Beginners’ Level): 25 students
- Thani Ibtidaiy (Primary Two Equivalent): 2 students
- Thalith Ibtidaiy (Primary Three Equivalent): 1 student
- Awwal Idaadi (Junior Secondary School One Equivalent): 1 student
- Qur'an College: 2 students
This tiered structure reflects the foundation's commitment to meeting students at their current capacity and guiding them progressively through rigorous curricula.
Teach Arabic And Qur'an With Understanding, Not Only Memorization
The Head of the Da’wah Research Unit (HDRU) at the National Headquarters of The Muslim Congress (TMC), Ustadh Salman Roji, has stressed that Arabic proficiency does not limit career prospects, urging Muslims to embrace the language for its religious, educational, and global relevance.
Ustadh Roji made the submission while delivering a lecture titled “Relevance of Arabic and Islamic Education” at the matriculation ceremony. Ustadh Roji described Arabic as a globally relevant language, noting that it is one of the six official languages of the United Nations and is spoken by hundreds of millions of people worldwide. He added that proficiency in Arabic could enable scholars to attain the peak of their careers in academia and other fields.
A Call for Academic Rigour and Core Values
Addressing the gathering, the Chairman, Board of Trustees of Mahdul Furqaan, Dr Muhammad Abdus-Salaam, congratulated the matriculating students, framing their admission as a competitive privilege that requires utmost commitment.
"Many applied to study here, but just a few were offered admission," Dr. Abdus-Salaam noted.
Laying down the institutional expectations, he emphasized that the school's core pillars; academic excellence, diligence, discipline, and uncompromising moral character are non-negotiable for anyone looking to pass through its doors. He also expressed profound gratitude to the parents and guardians for placing their trust in the foundation.
Rewarding Excellence and Inspiring the Next Generation
True to its tradition of encouraging hard work, the ceremony featured a special recognition segment. Outstanding students who distinguished themselves through exceptional academic brilliance and exemplary discipline during the preceding session were presented with awards and gifts.
The gesture not only celebrated past achievements but also served as an immediate source of inspiration for the newly inducted learners as they commenced their academic journey.
